Jombieland New Poster Out: First Punjabi Zom-Com To Hit Theatres On June 13

 

The anticipation around Kanika Mann, Binnu Dhillon, and Angira Dhar’s Jombieland is reaching fever pitch. Hailed as India’s first full-fledged Punjabi zombie comedy (zom-com), the makers of the film are leaving no stone unturned to maintain the excitement. Just a month before its grand theatrical release, a new poster of the film has been unveiled. The poster offers a wild and quirky glimpse into the chaos that awaits the protagonists. Jombieland is set to be released in theatres on June 13.

The release of the poster has generated immense excitement among fans and industry friends, who flooded the comments section with enthusiastic reactions.

Written and directed by Thaparr, Jombieland takes viewers to a vibrant Punjabi village that falls victim to the deadly Z1N1 virus, unleashing a widespread zombie outbreak. Amidst the madness, the film centers on Jeeti and Koko, two lovers already struggling against family opposition to their relationship. Their fight for love takes a dramatic turn as they are forced into a desperate battle for survival.

Produced by Neeraj Ruhil and Subhav Sharma under the banner of Next Level Productions, Jombieland also features Dhanveer Singh, Guri, and Jassa Dhillon. The film is set to release in five languages: Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, aiming for a wider reach.

Speaking about her experience, Kanika Mann described the film as a ‘wild ride.’ “Jombieland is raw, emotional, and packed with edge-of-the-seat action. I’ve never seen a zombie apocalypse story told through the lens of Punjabi culture, and that’s what makes this film so special. My character is a fighter, someone who evolves with every challenge, and portraying her was both liberating and intense,” Bollywood Hungama reported.

Angira Dhar expressed her initial intrigue with the concept of ‘zombies in Punjab.’ She stated, “From the moment I heard the concept — zombies in Punjab — I was hooked. This is more than just a horror-action film; it’s a survival story rooted in emotion, community, and resilience. This genre is new territory for Punjabi films, and I’m thrilled we’re the ones leading that charge. There’s grit, there’s heart, and there’s a whole lot of mayhem.
