When a fan asked whether she relished Hyderabadi biryani recently, the actress revealed that she had turned vegetarian before attending the Maha Kumbh.

The fan asked, “Mam ..did you eat hyderabadi biryani? #pzchat 15 or 50 ur looking same as before mam.” The actress replied, “Hahahahha ! Thank you. To be honest 3 weeks before the Maha Kumbh I became vegetarian, and I’m still vegetarian, except for eggs which I eat on and off for protein so no, I have not eaten Hyderabad biryani.”

Preity, who is in India for work commitments, attended the Maha Kumbh 2025 in February. Sharing a video, the actress wrote on Instagram, “This was my third time at the Kumbh Mela & it was magical, heartwarming & a bit sad. Magical because no matter how hard I try, I cannot explain how I felt. Heartwarming because I went with my brother & mom & it meant the world to her. Sad, because I wanted to be liberated from the various cycles of life & death only to realize the duality of life & attachment. Am I ready to let go of my family, my children & the people I love ? No ! I’m not ! It’s deeply moving & humbling when it dawns on you, that the strings of attachment are strong & mighty & no matter what your attachment is,even tually your spiritual journey & the journey ahead is solo ! I came back with the notion that - we are not human beings having a spiritual experience but spiritual beings having a human experience. Beyond this I don’t know, but I’m confident, my curiosity will definitely pave the way towards all the answers I seek… till then … Har Har Mahadev (sic).”

Preity will be returning to the big screen with Lahore 1947 with Sunny Deol. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan, the film is scheduled to release this year. The release date is yet to be announced.
